When Beth becomes suicidal, Maggie is both pissed and worried, telling Beth to think about how the rest of them would feel if she were to kill herself. Maggie is also upset at Hershel for leaving, and later asks Lori what she thinks Glenn’s issue is. She doesn’t understand his reaction to her saying she loves him. When Glenn gets back from the bar, he’s distant, and Maggie wonders what’s going on.

Dead City castĪ long list of additional cast members for this series will join Cohan, Morgan, and Kim. This will immediately follow the midseason 8 finale of Fear the Walking Dead. Dead City release dateĭead City will release on AMC and AMC+ on June 18, 2023, at 10 p.m. By the end of the series, Maggie informed Negan that while she appreciated him saving her son Hershel (Kien Michael Spiller), she can never forget what he did to Glenn. She still wanted him dead.ĭuring The Walking Dead’s eleventh and final season, Maggie and Negan were forced together on a mission and came to a truce. When she returned several years later, she was not pleased to learn that Negan had been let out of prison and was slowly making his way back into the good graces of some of the residents.
This weighed on her so much that she took her son Hershel and left the communities. In season 7 of The Walking Dead, Negan brutally killed Maggie’s husband, Glenn (Steven Yeun), an act for which Maggie can never forgive him. Showrunner Eli Jorné told Collider that Maggie and Negan, due to their “trauma and baggage,” would be the most exciting team for a series. It was unclear why these two characters would be cast in a series together. Not only did both of these characters have significant roles in the original, but they also have been at odds since Negan brutally killed Maggie’s husband, Glenn (Steven Yeun).
Dead City will be set in the apocalyptic wasteland of Manhattan, an island cut off from the mainland since early in the outbreak.ĭead City will continue the story of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), two main characters from The Walking Dead storyline. Dead City will be vastly different from the main series in location alone.
This new series is in a list of new spinoffs coming in 20, and we will likely see more in the future. The Walking Dead: Dead City is The Walking Dead’s first direct spinoff series of The Walking Dead.
